Lumigerm Lotion
Lumigerm Lotion is a bacterial simulation solution used to highlight areas of the hands that have not been washed thoroughly. After applying the lotion and washing the hands, shine a UV light on them to see the areas that were missed, so participants can understand their mistakes in handwashing.
Apply lotion to your hands
- Apply a small amount of Lumigerm Lotion to the palm of your hand.
- Rub your hands together thoroughly, as if applying lotion, so that the entire surface of your hands is covered.
2. Check with a UV Light
Place your hand under the UV light to see the Glo Germ particles glow, simulating germs on your hands.
Wash your hands
Wash your hands with soap and warm water to simulate the process of removing germs from your hands.
4. Check Again with UV Light
- After washing your hands, check them again with a UV light.
- Check to see if there are any “germs” left on parts of your hands.
5. Handwashing Evaluation
- If any germs remain, repeat the handwashing process.
- Use the proper technique for 20–30 seconds to ensure your hands are thoroughly clean.
Lumigerm Powder
Lumigerm Powder is a simulated germ powder used to train participants in hand and surface hygiene. The powder is sprinkled on surfaces and then illuminated with a UV light to reveal any remaining contamination, allowing participants to see how “germs” spread and the importance of maintaining hygiene.
1. Tabur Lumigerm Powder
Lumigerm Powder is applied in a thin layer to frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, tables, or light switches. The powder is barely visible to the naked eye.
2. Check with UV light
When we simulate Lumigerm Powder as bacteria adhering to a surface, it will glow under UV light
3. Contamination Through Touch
When someone touches the surface, Lumigerm Powder particles will transfer to their hands without them realizing it, simulating how germs can spread through contact.
3. Check again with UV light
The hand that has touched the surface is then examined using a UV light. The Lumigerm Dust particles will glow, indicating the contaminated areas.
5. The Handwashing Process
Hands are washed with soap and running water in accordance with hand hygiene procedures to remove any particles that may be present.
6. UV Re-inspection
After washing hands, a UV light inspection is conducted to ensure that no particles remain on the hands.
