Lumigerm Powder

Lumigerm Powder is a simulated germ powder used to train participants in hand and surface hygiene. The powder is sprinkled on surfaces and then illuminated with a UV light to reveal any remaining contamination, allowing participants to see how “germs” spread and the importance of maintaining hygiene.

1. Applying Lumigerm Powder

  • Sprinkle a thin layer of Lumigerm Powder on frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, tables, or light switches.
  • The powder particles are barely visible to the naked eye.

2. Check with a UV Light

When someone touches the surface, Lumigerm Powder particles will transfer to their hands without them realizing it, simulating how germs can spread through contact.

3. Contamination Through Touch

  • When someone touches the surface, Lumigerm Powder particles will transfer to their hands without them realizing it, simulating how germs can spread through contact.
  • This simulates how germs can spread through contact.

4. Inspection with a UV Light

  • Hands that have touched the surface are inspected using a UV light.
  • Lumigerm Powder particles will glow and highlight contaminated areas.

5. Wash Your Hands

Hands are washed with soap and running water in accordance with hand hygiene procedures to remove any particles that may be present.

6. UV Re-inspection

  • After washing hands, a follow-up inspection is conducted using a UV light.
  • The purpose is to check whether any particles are still on your hands.
